How to Write a Perfect Article (A Guide for Students)

Article writing can feel overwhelming for students, but it does not have to be. An article is simply a piece of writing published in a newspaper or magazine to express opinions, share facts, or highlight a social issue.

To score full marks and make memorizing easy, you must follow a strict format and use clear, simple sentences. Here is the ultimate guide to mastering the CBSE article writing sample.

1. The Core Format

Every good article must contain three main visible parts:

  • The Heading/Title: Keep it catchy and relevant (3-6 words). Capitalize the first letter of each main word. Place it in the center.

  • The Byline: Right below the heading, write “By [Name given in the question]”.

  • The Body (3 Paragraphs): This is where you explain your topic.

2. The “Secret Trick” for Weak Students: SVO Structure

When you are trying to learn multiple articles for your exams, memorizing long, complex sentences is a mistake. Instead, use the Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) sentence structure.

  • Subject (Who/What is doing the action)

  • Verb (The action)

  • Object (Who/What receives the action)

  • Example: Cruel people [Subject] + beat [Verb] + innocent animals [Object].

3. The Universal 3-Paragraph Template

You can apply this exact layout to almost any problem-based article (Pollution, Child Labour, Global Warming, etc.) simply by changing the nouns!

  • Paragraph 1: The Introduction. Introduce the place, state the problem, and contrast the good and bad sides of the current situation.

  • Paragraph 2: The Core Problem. List 3-4 specific bad actions happening. Explain the pain or suffering caused by these actions.

  • Paragraph 3: The Solution. Tell the government, schools, and citizens exactly what they must do to fix the problem. End with a positive, unifying sentence.
